The year is 1603 and the ageing Queen Elizabeth I has been on the throne for over 40 years, the English Catholics have lived in terror the past 20 years and are hopeful for more peaceful times ahead. Join the Packingtons of Harvington and their friends by candlelight and discover the dangers ahead of them, on this theatrical tour that brings the fascinating and perilous history of the Hall to life.
Our household reenactors will take you on a journey of fear, devotion and persecution! Go from room to room as the story unfolds, you will soon realise something is wrong, and the threat of the priest hunters breaking through the door is looming. There is no better way to see history than to watch it unfold before your very eyes. Once the performance has ended you'll be treated to a hot drink and cake from the Malt House coffee shop

Whispers of Treason - New for 2025
This Easter, join us in the shadowy world of Elizabethan intrigue with Whispers of Treason, a brand-new immersive experience at Harvington Hall.
The year is 1586, and England is rife with suspicion. The Queen’s spy network keeps a close watch on houses like Harvington, ever wary of treachery and secrets hidden behind closed doors. As you arrive at the Hall, you’ll be welcomed into the household—but beware! Among the faces you encounter may lurk spies planted to observe, report, and betray.
Put your detective skills to the test as you explore the historic Hall, piecing together clues and listening carefully to whispers of conspiracy. Speak with the characters you meet, but tread carefully—friend or foe, who can you trust?
Will you uncover the traitor in time, or will Harvington’s secrets fall into the wrong hands?

Join us for a 1920's Garden Party. Bring the family and join in with the fun! Dressing in 1920s is not essential but is certainly encouraged.

Step back in time and explore three centuries of England's military history!
At this event you will journey through authentic camps from the 13th, 15th, and 17th centuries, discovering how warfare shaped our past.
What to expect
- To witness camp life for the soldiers across three centuries
- Armour and weaponry evolution over time. Get to handle weapons and objects used during the period.
- Experience arming the knight and preparing for battle
- Watch live demonstrations of combat and firepower
Your Ticket for this event also includes entrance to the Hall. There are no guided tours on this day, but stewards are on hand to answer any questions.

Widely considered one of the funniest plays in English, Wilde’s much-loved masterpiece The Importance Of Being Earnest throws love, logic and language into the air to make one of theatre’s most dazzling firework displays.
Jack, Algy, Gwendolyn and Cecily discover how un-smooth runs the course of true love, while Lady Bracknell keeps a baleful eye on the mayhem of manners.

- This is an outdoor theartre production in Harvington's grounds.

- Please bring appropriate clothing, as the weather could change during the perfomance.

- The Malt House Coffee Shop will be open until the interval selling tea/coffee and cake.

Relive the infamous Gunpowder Plot, a pivotal moment in English history, as it unfolds around you. Follow Robert Catesby and his conspirators as they hatch their daring plan, moving from scene to scene throughout the Hall. Feel the atmosphere of Jacobean England with authentic sights, sounds, and even smells that bring the era to life. Sit with the plotters in the Duck & Drake Inn, witness the interrogation of Guy Fawkes, and experience the dramatic final showdown at Holbeche House. Don’t miss this unique chance to walk through history, reliving one of England’s most daring plots!

- A welcome cup of ale or juice in the Duck & Drake Inn
- Approx 1hr 30mins immersive experience
- Tea/Coffee and cake in the Malt House Coffee Shop after the performance

- The Hall is extremley dark and only lit by candles
- The Hall is very uneven, so please take care when walking around
- Some of the scenes are outside, so please dress appropriately for the time of year

See Harvington like never before! Our most highly anticipated event of the year, the candlelight tour allows you to be transported back to the heart of Elizabethan England. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine in the Great Kitchen before your costumed guide takes you through the rooms and passages under candlelight, telling you tales whilst discovering the Hall’s secret hiding places.
The fires will be roaring, the musicians playing and the dancers dancing in the great chamber.
Once you have finished your guided tour you will be treated to coffee and homemade mince pies from our Malt House café.
A perfect event to start the festive period.

Come and be a part of the Harvington household this Christmas at Harvington Hall. Step back in time and allow yourself to be immersed with the sights, sounds and smells of Elizabethan Christmas.
Our reenactors will bring the Hall to life as it would have been during Elizabethan times!
The cook will be preparing traditional Tudor food in the Great Kitchen, the fires will be roaring and the musicians playing. The Hall will be decorated with greenery and our reenactors will be dressed in all their finery, giving you an authentic Elizabethan Christmas experience.
